Almost all juice becoming a way of life
I have to say I’m quite liking my juicing. I’ve gotten to the point that I actually like beets. I’ve also lost 10lbs since Feb 1st which is a great motivator. I’m actually now about to get into composting as spring approaches and I have all this great juicing waste that I’ll be able to reuse. Can’t wait to juice what comes from my own garden soon. Maybe...

USDA Forces Whole Foods To Accept Monsanto →
tribander: I’m not sure forces is the right word…but really this is beyond just whole Foods… sounds like organic food in general is in danger.  No bueno people, no bueno.  How does this happen? Oh I know our politicians are for sale.

Day 5 & 6 the almost all juice experiment
So The juicing is going pretty well. I don’t feel hungry, I’m not feeling like I’m missing anything, I will say having nuts and hummus and salads is helping the days but overall I drink juice in the am, make a juice to take with me for a mid morning snack and the either have almonds or hummus or a salad for lunch and then another juice mid afternoon. I’ll eat some Fish...

parislemon: Title by Horace Dediu says it all. With that in mind, the fact that OS X is becoming more iOS-like rather than the other way around should surprise absolutely no one.  Amazing stat

Day 3 of the almost all juice experiment
Day 3 was ok, berry juice in the am, a green juice mid morning and a beet/kale juice in the afternoon with a little turkey for lunch. I followed that with a little more turkey and hummus for dinner and a juice before the gym. I spinned for 30 min and did some core stuff. Overall a pretty amazing food day. Was hoping for at least a little weight loss but I got nothing. Interesting and...

Day 2 almost all juice
Day 2 started out great. Juice for breakfast, a boxing class at the gym a mid-morning juice snack afterwards and then came the lunch juice. A combination of tomatoes, onion, celery, lemon, red pepper. Well, that killed it for me. I just can’t drink onion. Maybe If I’d cooked it and had it as a soup it would have been fine but cold? No way Jose. I abandoned the juice and had 2...

Apple $500 →
parislemon: Remember a month ago when Robert X. Cringely predicted that there would soon be an “insurrection” at Apple to overthrow Tim Cook? “If you are wondering when Apple will peak, well we’re about there folks,” Cringely wrote. Since then, Apple has posted holy-fucking-shit earnings (in their first official quarter under Cook). And the company is now a full $100 billion more valuable than...

3pm slump? Why a sugar rush may not be the answer. →
Protein not sugar stimulates cells keeping us thin and awake, new study suggests. A new study has found that protein and not sugar activates the cells responsible for keeping us awake and burning calories.  The research, published in the scientific journal Neuron, has implications for understanding obesity and sleep disorders. Wakefulness and energy expenditure rely on “orexin cells”, which...
